Trinidad's bout-by-bout career boxing record.

Post-fight quotes of Trinidad & Hopkins.

This is what both fighters said after the Middleweight Championship Series Finale..

FELIX ‘TITO’ TRINIDAD:

  • “I feel okay.  I came to win.  I always come to win.  Hopkins is a great champion, a good fighter.  I felt the fight was more or less even until the end.”

  • “In the 12th round we traded punches.  He threw a right hand that hurt me.  I was hurt.”

  • “I’m proud of the people of Puerto Rico.  I love them and I hope they still love me.  To my family, I love them.  Boxing  is a hard life, but I’m okay.”

  • “We’ll sit down and discuss what to do next.  I’m not really thinking about the future.  I am a great champion and I don’t feel bad with one loss.”

BERNARD HOPKINS:

  •  “First of all I want to apologize to the Puerto Rican people.  We’re all the same.”

  • “I have great fans in Philadelphia.  The mayor is a good friend.  My fans believe in me. I also want to pay tribute to New York City and the firefighters and policemen who risked their lives in the tragedy here.  They are the true warriors.”

  • “I wanted the opportunity to prove myself.  I am a role model.  I want to represent the USA.  I finally got the opportunity to prove myself at 36.  I’ve matched Monzon’s record and I’ll break it in my next fight.  I’m one of the best middleweights of all-time.  That’s not cockiness or being arrogant.  I’ll leave it up to the fans and media to judge.  The fans of the world can be the judge who the best is.  I’m the new creation of Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard.”

  • “Trinidad hit me with his best shot and that’s when he knew he lost.  I had it won (when we signed the contract.”

  • “Roy Jones said it best when he is said Bernard Hopkins is a man.  That’s why he hasn’t fought me in six or seven years.  I want Oscar de la Hoya right now.  He needs a chance to redeem himself.  Roy Jones is not on my radar.  He disrespected me back in February.  Or course $20 million would change my mind quickly.”

  • “I got blamed for the hand wraps and I had nothing to do with it.  Just like when I was in grade school and got blamed when I did nothing.  I get blamed for playing games when my people were doing their jobs.”

  • “It’s been a struggle getting here.  You don’t have to agree with everything I say or do, but I said from the start that this would be the easiest fight of my career.  Right now I want to rest and enjoy the moment.”

  • “When you fight a Philadelphia fighter, with a Philadelphia heart, you can’t break my spirit.  The business couldn’t break my spirit.  The penitentiary couldn’t break my spirit.  That’s what makes you a man.  I’m a man first.  I’m prouder to be a man than a fighter.” “I am the American dream.  When they said I couldn’t do it, I did it.  When they said it would be impossible.  I made it possible.”

  • “I haven’t had a chance to mourn with America because I’ve been preparing for this fight.  I will stay here in New York City for three days and go with Lou Dibella to visit policemen and firemen.”

  • “He (Trinidad) ain’t got enough respect to be here, but his belt is here.”
